Classic Fly-in Safari Experience
The Secret Tuli and Okavango Safari in Botswana combine two areas that are renowned for their landscapes and game viewing into one package. Each destination is an authentic African escape where you can immerse yourself in the environment and experience gracious hospitality.
You’ll enjoy the first 2 nights along the banks of the Limpopo River in the Tuli Block, a scenic and wildlife rich area known as the ‘Land of Giants’. There’ll be exciting game viewing activities where you can see Africa’s big cats and the largest herds of Elephant on private land in the world.
For your last 2 nights you’ll move on to a camp that is considered to be the most romantic bush camp in the Okavango Delta. Situated on a remote island, the camp is surrounded by a watery wilderness all year round. This birding haven offers a tranquil wildlife experience to round off your Classic Fly-in Safari.
Day 1: Johannesburg - Gaborone – Northern Tuli Block (Botswana)
You depart from Johannesburg on an early morning flight to Gaborone, Botswana. From here you connect onto a light aircraft which takes you to the Limpopo Valley Airfield in the Northern Tuli Block – this is a scenic flight over dramatic landscapes that are quite different from other areas in Botswana. You will land in Tuli in the early afternoon where a representative will be waiting to transfer you to the lodge in a private game reserve.
After a warm welcome and check-in, you will have time to refresh before High Tea on the terrace overlooking the waterhole. In the late afternoon your first 4x4 game drive departs and you will get a good look at the amazing wildlife this region is known for. There will be a stop en-route for sundowners followed by a twilight drive back to the safari lodge. Dinner is a lantern-lit affair in the boma (open-air enclosure) where you can also hear the accomplished lodge choir.
Day 2: Northern Tuli Block
The safari lodge is set along the banks of the Limpopo River in attractive gardens and it is this lovely sight that will greet you with your early morning wake-up call. After tea or coffee and snacks, the first game drive of the day departs. Your experienced guide will take you on a journey of discovery, returning you to the safari lodge for a welcome brunch and leisure time. Guided bush walks are also available as well as a range of other interesting excursions.
There is a lot to do at the lodge when not out in the bush, you’ll find a large swimming pool, a bush hide and waterhole within the grounds, a panoramic viewing deck on top of one of the sandstone kopjes, seats on the banks of the Limpopo River, a curio shop and a self-guided walking trail around the lodge grounds. Your well-appointed accommodation is also great for a quiet siesta before High Tea, the sunset game drive and of course dinner.
Day 3: Northern Tuli Block – Okavango Delta
On your last morning at Tuli you will have an early morning wake-up call and refreshments before departing on the morning game drive or walk. You will arrive at the Bush Brunch venue for drinks and a delightful meal in the bush.
After the brunch you will drive back to the lodge for your check-out and transfer to Limpopo Valley Airfield for your scheduled light aircraft flight to the Okavango Delta (the flight has a fueling stop in Francistown en-route). On arrival at the camp’s airfield you will be met and transferred.
You will be welcomed and settled in to your private tented bush suite set in the riverine forest and garden. Keep a look out for the colourful birdlife and the rare Pel’s Fishing Owl. After a lovely afternoon tea on the main deck it will be time for the sunset game viewing activity. On your return, you can enjoy your first evening in the Delta and a delicious dinner round the camp fire, with the sounds of the African night in the background.
Day 4: Okavango Delta
After your early morning wake-up call and refreshments, you set off on an adventure into the Delta. Activities are water based and your professional safari guide will give you insights into the especially diverse flora and fauna of this region.

The sights and sounds will enthral you and you will enjoy a feeling of privacy which is quite unique. This area is home to big game such as Elephant, Buffalo and Hippo as well as Lion and Cheetah amongst many other species and you may even see the rare Sitatunga antelope.
After your morning excursion, you return to the bush camp for brunch and some down time. You could relax by the splash pool or have a siesta before High Tea and the sunset game viewing activity followed by dinner.
